Our community Thanksgiving celebration will be on the Sunday before Thanksgiving, November 18. We’re calling this the “Trial Run” so you can try out your new recipes on us before you subject your family to them on Thanksgiving Day. We’re bringing the Turkey. You bring a side dish or beverage, or just yourself. There’s a signup sheet to let us know you’ll be there so we bring enough turkey. We’ll start the feast around noon, right after the service.

UnSunday is back on November 11. We’ll start with mimosas and coffee at 10:45 am, and then at 11:00, we’ll see “The Power of Outrospection,” an animated short from the Royal Society of Arts. Different from introspection, Outrospection is the ability to practice stepping outside oneself as a path to changing yourself and the world. Join kindred spirits for this sure-to-be engaging dialog filled with laughter. In case you missed the last UnSunday, it’s for those of us who love the messages, but DON’T necessarily love a churchy format. UnSundays are something different every month, but always participatory and always informal. Join us for a whole new way to experience UnSundays every second Sunday at HeartSpace.

Save the Dates for these HeartSpace Holidays. We’ll give more details as each date nears, so be sure to stay tuned and mark your calendars to join in our community holidays!

Be a part of decorating the new prayer room! Our resident genius artist, Lisa Umbarger, is going to create a found-object art project on the wall of our new prayer space. Please bring 2 to 4 objects from your home that have personal meaning to you. As long as they weigh less than one pound, the objects can be any size. Stop by the prayer room to see what others have already brought for ideas about what you can bring in by the end of October. We can’t wait to see what creations appear!

UnSunday is here starting on October 14! We’ll have mimosas and coffee at 10:30 am, and then at 11:00 we’ll watch and discuss the 7-minute Uplift film “We Have The Power.”  What is UnSunday? It’s for those of us who love the messages, but DON’T necessarily love a churchy-format with music and talking from the front of the room. UnSundays will be something different every month, but always participatory and always informal. We will explore many different topics and include connection with everyone in the room. We’ll throw out ideas and questions with opportunities to share your thoughts with people sitting near you, or if you’re an introvert, a time to reflect on your own thoughts. Join us for a whole new way to experience UnSundays every second Sunday at HeartSpace!

Join us for the Family Constellations Workshop with John Harold Moore from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, September 29. In this workshop, you’ll gain insights and new perspectives about your own family dynamics and discover what might be holding you back from reaching your highest potential. Join us from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, September 29 in our usual Sunday meeting space at 4312 Live Oak, just north of downtown Dallas.

Join us for a community-wide afternoon of fun on Sunday, April 8. We’ll be gathering at White Rock Boat Club (thanks Megan!) around 12:30pm. Please bring a dish to share and your beverage of choice, including beer or wine. At 2pm, we’ll be treated to a relaxing sail around the lake on The Spirit of Dallas, a 38-foot catamaran. The boat can accommodate 36 people, so bring your family or a friend. HeartSpace will be the only folks on the boat! Doesn’t matter if we haven’t seen you in awhile, you are welcome to come for the fun.

With this new adventure, HeartSpace is excited to provide a ‘non-Sunday’ opportunity for connection, spiritual growth, support and laughter. SpiritGroups will meet monthly beginning in May, and each group will be autonomous in deciding when to meet and what spiritual topics to explore. Groups are scattered around the DFW Metroplex in order to serve our far-reaching community.

HEY! But first…

The launch is actually in April, and groups will meet weekly in April only and deep dive into our month’s theme: Where Humanity and Divinity Meet — The Gospel of Thomas. This gospel, ahem, didn’t quite make it into the New Testament, and in fact was stashed away in the desert, only to be discovered over a thousand years later. When you see and understand what it says, you’ll know why , but suffice it to say that Thomas’s Jesus wants us to know for ourselves who we are by going within and discovering our own divinity. Sound intriguing? Here’s the rest of the details.

April groups will meet weekly for 1.5 – 2 hours in

  • Far North Dallas – Mondays
  • Old East Dallas – Wednesdays
  • Ft. Worth and
  • (possibly) Murphy

Everything is provided, so all you have to do is show up. Each week’s gathering will build on material from the Sunday message. No worries if you’re not a Sunday attender or you miss a Sunday, because the talks will be available on our YouTube channel first thing Monday mornings. Alternatively, you can join us virtually via Facebook Live each Sunday at 11am.

Once April ends, you can keep with your group, or opt out if it’s not your cup of tea. If you have questions, please shoot us an email here. If you wanna see me talking about this, go here. Thanks, y’all, and happy travels.
