UnSunday is here starting on October 14! We’ll have mimosas and coffee at 10:30 am, and then at 11:00 we’ll watch and discuss the 7-minute Uplift film “We Have The Power.”  What is UnSunday? It’s for those of us who love the messages, but DON’T necessarily love a churchy-format with music and talking from the front of the room. UnSundays will be something different every month, but always participatory and always informal. We will explore many different topics and include connection with everyone in the room. We’ll throw out ideas and questions with opportunities to share your thoughts with people sitting near you, or if you’re an introvert, a time to reflect on your own thoughts. Join us for a whole new way to experience UnSundays every second Sunday at HeartSpace!

We are so excited about our October theme “Abundance by Design” that we’re kicking it off a day early–on September 30. The series will run for 5 weeks and follow the book Art of Abundance: Ten Rules for a Prosperous Life by Dennis Merritt (click here to get the book). We’ll cover two rules per week in our Sunday talk, have an opt-in to receive a daily affirmation via text, and small groups you can drop in on a weeknight at different locations to have a deeper discussion about the rules we cover each week. You are welcome to drop in on any of our small, informal groups. You don’t have to get the book to follow along because we’ll have study materials for you! The groups meet from 7-8:30ish pm on MONDAYS in the downtown Dallas area; WEDNESDAYS in the Richardson area; and THURSDAYS in the Murphy area (east of Plano in Collin County). You can come to any group for one or all of the meetings. Here are the details for the groups:

7-8:30ish pm MONDAYS – 4312 Live Oak, Dallas – Facilitator Celia Naples 214-563-5885

7-8:30ish pm WEDNESDAYS – 822 Northlake, Richardson – Facilitator Chris Terry 469-831-2497

7-8:30ish pm THURSDAYS – 518 Havenwood, Murphy – Facilitator Marsha Meghdadpour 469-835-9678

In the last of our Miscellany September Theme, Rev. Chris Terry talks about God.

Join us for the Family Constellations Workshop with John Harold Moore from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday, September 29. In this workshop, you’ll gain insights and new perspectives about your own family dynamics and discover what might be holding you back from reaching your highest potential. Join us from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, September 29 in our usual Sunday meeting space at 4312 Live Oak, just north of downtown Dallas.

The final week of the Gospel of Thomas. Chris explores her favorite of the Thomas sayings, and wraps up the series with a powerful prayer.

To borrow a quote from TS Eliot, “Put first things first and we get second things thrown in; put second things first and we lose both first and second things.” See What the Gospel of Thomas says about keeping spirituality primary in our lives and what possibilities come of it when we do.

Week two of the Gospel of Thomas, in which Rev Marsha illuminates the difference between gnocchi and gnosis. Very helpful!

We begin our month’s theme of “Where Humanity and Divinity Meet: The Gospel of Thomas”. Chris explores the history of Christianity from the perspective of its multiplicity, and illuminates the VERY different view of Jesus that Thomas presents.
